    Banking in US and Canada

Hello! Those of you that get paid in USD but live in Canada how do you manage your banking expenses? Do you simply transfer the required amount of money per month from your US bank account to CAD or do you use a borderless banking account that allows you to convert between both currencies? are...

Windsor area - 2 full bath

Sorry for the late reply. 2 beds at a minimum, anything over that is fine as well. The main condition is 2 full baths. I’m just tired of looking for places. We might just have to change our move in date to fit housing availability.

Windsor area - 2 full bath

Hello, My husband and I are planning to move to Windsor later this year and are searching for apartments/houses close to the tunnel. However, I’m finding it extremely difficult to get 2 full bath apartments. Most ads that say 2 bath turn out to have 1 full & 1 half. The inventory for apartments...

USPS safe to send passport from US to Canada?

Hi, I've gone through other threads and am wondering if anyone has experience in sending passport for their PPR from the US to Canada through USPS. Most threads recommend FedEx or UPS but both of those don't deliver to your mailbox and will instead require a signature when the passport is...

Sending passport from USA to Canada

It would be great if members here could guide me. Is there a reason that people here didn't use USPS? I am in a traveling job and USPS is the only one that would drop the passports back in my mail box instead of requiring me to sign for it. Is it just a matter of preference that most people used...

    AOR in February 2018

In my case, my profile did not show "Updated" even though the wording for Background Check changed inside. After about 7 days (yesterday), I saw the profile was updated but didn't see any changes. Then the same night, PPR email was triggered.

Indian PCC from US embassy - via mail and in person

You can apply for Indian PCC only at the consulate in whose jurisdiction you maintain legal residence. As I explained at the start of my post, I lived in the jurisdiction of NYC consulate and my husband lived in Atlanta consulate's jurisdiction.

    27th Feb IP2s

“We do not need additional documents.” Does that make a difference to where my application stands? Also today my application said “updated” even though I couldn’t see any difference in the background check status

    27th Feb IP2s

Did anyone check your visa office post Feb 27 IP2? I was under the impression that in IP2 your case is sent to the CPC. My case is still with CIO-Sydney as of today. I know I still have plenty of time before I should start getting nervous but just curious to know if anyone else has their case...

Name is spelt different on degree certificate and passport

You can use whatever is on your passport. If the name is just slightly different it shouldnt be a problem. But if it’s different by a lot, WES may not accept it. For example if degree has John D and your name on passport is John Doe, it shouldn’t be a problem. But if it’s Mary on one and John on...

Police Clearance Certificate from Indian Embassy in USA

    1. ITA is not required 2. No cover letter required although you may wish to submit if you want. Basically it needs to state the purpose of the PCC request (Canada PR) and the documents you have attached within.

Indian PCC from US embassy - via mail and in person

I did track both the onward and return packages for delivery. As for the actual processing, NY consulate called me when they started processing the application and said that they would send it out via mail the next day.

Hi - My status went from Meds passed and Background Check in progress to Background check not applicable. Does this mean the eligibility check is complete and the next step is employment and document verification?

    AOR in February 2018

When your medicals passes in most cases your BG check automatically goes into In progress. You are now in IP1. As for the progress, each case is different and the only way is to wait for CIC to come back with a reply. I feel that with Feb 2 AOR it’s still too early to feel to start worrying...

This tracker should help - https://myimmitracker.com/en/ca/trackers/consolidated-e-apr-tracker-express-entry-permanent-residency-application For my specific situation (Indian in USA and FSW-Outland), the median wait time seems to be around 45-60 days. Of course, the average is much higher due...
