Of course, the marriage is not only for immigration haha... I guess university & studying is the easiest way to find a partner.

Btw, does anyone here know research institutes (or companies) in Canada that are doing AI and healthcare and allow me to publish papers where working?

Honestly doing a US online master in Canada seems to be one of the most rational ways to proceed and I agree. It is just sometimes I am also thinking of doing a Phd. Onsite master's helps me with knowing the professor and doing more research. Doing a Phd might help me get a self-sponsored GC as...

I have a final decision on GCKey, does this mean my application is approved? The background check is ongoing though on the tracker. How many days should I expect PPR?

Thanks!! This is actually a really good plan and something that I have thought about as well. Would being on-site in the US during grad school improve the networking though? Also, I would only get the TN visa after I get the passport which is roughly in 4 years rather than 3 years right? This is...

Actually for education, I might do a Ph.D.. but there is a trade-off with immigration. If I do a phd in my country of residence, I will probably live here for long term and never immigrate because I might get lazy. If I immigrate, I might not do a Phd since I get older and might get lazy. Of...

I guess you can also marry US citizens or GC holders for your status then? Maybe I should take a Phd then.. are you considering going back to the US after some time? Seems like there are no success stories of someone getting a GC in this forum.. might just be because I am in the canadavisa...

I guess 1 is a high-risk high-gain path.. Will need some luck to get selected in the lottery.. unless someone wants to sponsor my GC during OPT, I guess the company-sponsored GC will also take 2 - 3 years after the initial process until I get the GC right? Btw, for Canadian citizenship, I can go...

I am not sure if I take unskilled jobs for immigration, but I am delaying my grad school or finding a partner for immigration. Not really sure if this is the best course of actions? I guess there is a trade off for everything..

""" Always remember, do not build your life around immigration. Its just one rite of passage. A beaurocratic bullshit. """ Can you elaborate more on this? I thought if we don't plan, let's say for Canada express entry, after 30 years old, then it's going to be difficult to get a PR. And for the...

The majority seems to discourage that big loan.. Hmmm, but during your STEM OPT were you able to pay back your education investment (or loan)? How common is it for someone in tech not from China or India to not be able to stay in the US?

I am in biomedical research industry, thinking of doing master / Phd in CS / biomedical informatics / computational biology / bioinformatics. What sectors are you in? So you don't think that you should go to Canada master even if they are cheaper since you are a PR?

I am not from India or China.. so my path is wide open? If I need to take a 100K loan for a top US grad school, is it worth it with uncertainty to get GC?

It doesn't help.. just for safety when you don't get selected with the lottery.. If you go back to Canada and only work in the summer, you cannot even maintain 2 years residency requirement after 5 years.. so we cannot have it both ways.. and there is no summer when you work full time jobs..

Were you born in India or China? If you studied in the US as an undergrad, so you were out of luck for your H1B during your OPT and needed to move to Canada? or you haven't used up your STEM OPT and directly went for master's in Canada?

I guess my dilemma is about the order: 1. Go to grad school in the US -> Chase GC -> Doesn't work out -> Canada PR -> Canada Passport -> TN -> Chase GC 2. Go to Canada with PR -> Canada Passport -> TN -> Grad school in the US -> Chase GC 3. Go to Canada with PR -> Cheaper grad school in Canada...
