Regardless of those questions, you should apply for your son anyway. It doesn't matter if he is dependent to you, you still need to apply for him. You can create a group application, apply for yourself and him and submit together. So yes, you should fill out the forms for him as well.

Not sure how long it will take to receive your stamped passport. Probably 10- 14 days if you have to send it to another city. This is what IRCC says for processing times and it doesn't mean yours will take 41 days to process. This is just an average, yours might take longer or shorter amount...

Processing time for USA is currently 41 days. You should at least wait till end of July to hear back from IRCC about your visa decision.
