When I applied for OCI (on Feb 11), they took my surrender certificate original. Do you guys know how long does it take it to be returned ? I saw @msatishxp got the return status like in 5 days. My BLS status is says "Processing at consulate general" for both lines.

They told me it was mandatory and there was no way he can take it off, in spite of me asking multiple times. I knew that was wrong, but I didnt wanna create a scene there.

Did they charge you also this notorious fee ?

I just filled up OCI application and uploaded the scanned copies. I uploaded a scanned copy of the Indian passport before the cancellation. It does not have the holes in the scanned image or the cancelled seal. Should I re-do the upload now with scan of the cancelled passport ? What did you all...

I have ignored the relationship certificate part. For Indian visa, I uploaded the COPR as suggested elsewhere in this forum. I remember I had to upload COPR for my kid's OCI after I went to BLS using my phone.
