Application for Canadian Citizenship - A Comprehensive Guide

I believe you might be able to add your child to the citizenship application as soon as the child becomes a Permanent Resident if your application is still in process or you have already become a Canadian citizen. Since you are applying for citizenship for a minor under 5(2), I don't think the...

Application for Canadian Citizenship - A Comprehensive Guide

That's weird but yes. I suppose you can do that. I can't see why you cannot fill that particular section using a pen.

Virtual Citizenship Ceremony Experience in detail!

AFAIK, the oath status is updated to "Completed" once they ship the citizenship certificate.

Physical Presence Calculator: "Temporary Resident Permit Holder" or "Temporary Worker" for Open work permit?

Should be temporary worker, I think. I am not sure and I really can't tell the difference. Temporary worker sounds apt for open work permit holders is my opinion.

Application for Canadian Citizenship - A Comprehensive Guide

Wouldn't recommend it. If you must submit a PCC, wait for it and then submit the application once you have it. The last thing you want is your application to be considered incomplete and returned. That'll waste even more time.

Visitor Visa - Marriage proof requirements for parents

Well, you can only provide what you have. In this case, provide everything that you do have - Passport copies showing spouse name, marriage invitation and a notarized confirmation stating that they are married. Add a letter of explanation explaining this scenario. Also, if your birth certificate...

Citizenship application - name change part of the application

The process is same as applying for a new passport if you are going to change your name. You can't "Renew" a passport when you want to change your name. https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/canadian-passports/renew-adult-passport/renew-who.html See what the...

Citizenship application - name change part of the application

I don't know anyone personally who had this problem. But if the citizenship certificate you were given has your old name, you'd probably have to apply for a replacement and provide all documentation. AFAIK, this is a 'regular' replacement application and could potentially take several months...

Need to travel to India immediately after canada citizenship Oath

No, she didn't. I advised her to not do this and get a visa instead. So, she got a visa and then traveled to India.

Application for Canadian Citizenship - A Comprehensive Guide

If you are applying online, you'll not have to send any documents via mail when initially applying. So, submitting a scanned copy of the original PCC should be sufficient IMO.

    1. No 2. I applied for both together.

    OCI process

They will likely ask you to postpone the ceremony. There isn't any reliable press (at least none that I know of) to suggest they will let you keep (let alone allow you to travel with PR card after ceremony). If someone has any reliable information about this, this would be a good place to share.

Application for Canadian Citizenship - A Comprehensive Guide

Provide the records of whatever you have. From 18 sounds good. In any case, I think that the records for the past 5 years should suffice because for the purposes of citizenship, the ONLY period that matters (in most cases) is the last 5 years of your life from the date you signed the...

    September 2020 - Citizenship Applicants

There is a non-zero chance of that happening (although at this point, I think it might be unlikely). If I were you, I would open a webform, explain that I've already submitted the passport pages but I missed to submit translation for one stamp and attach it along with the webform request. This...

    Citizenship Test From Outside Canada

How you plan this is up to you. You can either take the test outside Canada or you can return to Canada to take the test and then head to your destination. There might or might not be an email from IRCC asking if you've returned to Canada (I've seen it in some cases / there isn't data or I...

    OCI process

Used to be possible when I applied (late August 2021) but from the recent reports, looks like that process is done away with.

    Citizenship Test From Outside Canada

No, not necessarily. Straight forward cases are reported on the forum as well, just not as often as some non-routine ones. It is indeed silly for IRCC to expect people to come to Canada for a test that can be completed in less than 10 minutes (I think I took 8 minutes to complete). This practice...
