Latest on the Changes on Canada Immigration plan this coming FALL

Telling ppl not to be frustrayed?? Are you for real bro? Thats okay we don't expect you to understand our frustration. We are waiting for our wives and our children, not some gay common law sugar daddy who is 26 years older than us.

GCMS NOTES WELL EXPLAINED HAS NEVER BEFORE UNTIL NOW

It would not be a bad thing if the Visa Offices were quick at scheduling interviews. That extra wait time is mainly the reason why many of us want to avoid interviews.

GCMS NOTES WELL EXPLAINED HAS NEVER BEFORE UNTIL NOW

you can't fault him for providing more proof. singapore is one of the toughest visa offices to get through, and i would've done the exact same. damned if you do, damned if you don't. check this out...

Why is CPC-Ottawa so quick compared to other VOs?

I wouldn't know because I haven't really looked too much into past data, but I really hope you're right.

Why is CPC-Ottawa so quick compared to other VOs?

Here's what got me thinking about this whole thing: This is copied from CIC's processing times page. Click the blue question mark next to the average processing time and you'll see this. They show the same message regardless of what stream was selected, so I don't know if this applies to...

That puts my mind at ease. Thank you. :)

Why is CPC-Ottawa so quick compared to other VOs?

This is true even for applicants from countries who do not have info sharing agreements with Canada (e.g. UK). I'm very worried after hearing that CIC has an immigration levels plan to stick to. What if applicants processed at CPC-Ottawa end up filling the majority of this year's 60,000...

Speaking notes for John McCallum - June 14th

No it seems like that number is a total across all offices. Actually, having looked at the numbers of immigrants by country of origin, I wouldn't really worry. The applicants being processed at Ottawa (country of origin USA and sometimes UK) are actually a relatively small percentage of the...

Speaking notes for John McCallum - June 14th

That was going to be my next question actually. I thought only parents/grandparents had a cap. It would be pretty bad if the spouses stream has a cap as well. Ottawa is going to process all their apps quickly and reach that cap sooner, and then all the other applicants being processed at...

Speaking notes for John McCallum - June 14th

Link: http://news.gc.ca/web/article-en.do?nid=1086189 He says in his speaking notes that "we’ve increased the number of spouses allowed this year by 12,000". Isn't that number supposed to be 14,000? That's what the June 13th notice from CIC said (see here).

    PR approved, what next?

Your short wait time had little to do with whether or not your application was air tight. Had they sent your application to London instead, i can gurantee you that your file would have sat on the shelf gathering dust for another 6 months.

Backlog clearance--what does it mean for new applications?

Thank you iamabule for keeping our spirits up. It has been frustrating for all of us, and it angers me to see people remain pessimistic when we finally do get some good news from the CIC. It has only been 3 day since the annountment, let's at least give them a chance to prove themselves before...

Backlog clearance--what does it mean for new applications?

What are you talking about? The whole point of this effort is to reduce the backlogs at the VOs that have a high volume of backlogged applications. Applicants being processed at Ottawa/Sydney don't care either way because their VOs are already fast enough.

Backlog clearance--what does it mean for new applications?

They can do it if they try. Look at the amount of applications that got approved between November and December of last year at the london visa office. Look at new delhi VO's performance between January to May 2016. And look at ottawa VO's performance since the start of this year. Maybe the...

Backlog clearance--what does it mean for new applications?

Politics aside, are you saying that this notice doesn't mean anything? I don't believe that. I don't know if there will be lasting effects or permanent solution, but i think for now they really are trying to do do something about the backlog. They are even displaying the notice right on the...

Question about sponsoring wife from Jordan

I dont know about the inland process, but i know that the majority of outland sponsorships are done in less than half the time they have posted on the CIC site. It takes longer only if there are complications such as red flags in your relationship or interview requests. The posted timeline for...

proof of relationship - not enough calls?

OK so since the letter says "proof such as skype and whatsapp records", i will explain that we don't skype because my wife's internet is too slow, and after that i'll send in my entire whatsapp log of 500 pages. There are some intimate parts but I don't care, they can read all of it if they want...

proof of relationship - not enough calls?

Thank you everyone for the advice. I am not worried, i will be truthful and send what i have. If they end up asking my wife for an interview, that is OK because we have nothing to hide, but if they make her wait for a year, i will throw my canadian passport in the trash and move to her instead.

proof of relationship - not enough calls?

Yes, i am worried they'll ask questions why we don't talk over the phone more than 2-3 times a month.
