Sorry to hear about the rejection. About the bridging work permit, it's linked to the APR that you had submitted. Since that's been refused, BOWP application won't be approved. Not sure if Implied status will be valid now that APR is refused.

I can only safely answer one of your questions- BOWP stands for bridging open work permit. You can google it to read all about it. But basically if you have an AOR and your current work permit is about to expire in four months or less you can apply for the BOWP in order to continue working in...

My advice is get a very good lawyer to look at this and see if the refusal is in order or if a reconsideration is possible. Alternatively if you just go ahead and apply for restoration its most likely to visitor status and no guarantee you will get it. All the best!
