...from CIC that it was received. Did I make a mistake by mailing it to Ottawa office instead of Sydney CIO? I have a bridging open work permit that runs from March 2014 - March 2015. What happens if I have not received my PR status then? I have heard that the reason the bridging WPs are 1 year...

    PR Application

Yes - it's normal not to be able to link your account. It's taking many months these days for IRCC to open and start processing applications. Just to be clear, I assume you applied for an OWP and included this in your inland spousal sponsorship application (not a BOWP). BOWPs are for economic...

And depending which PR stream you eventually apply under, you may be able to apply for a Bridging Open Work Permit. If you haven’t already, sign up for Canada Visa’s newsletter & review IRCC news releases for updates.

CEC from Quebec, and May I Apply for a Bridging Open Work Permit

If you´re planning to stop working but stay in Canada after your WP expires, make sure to apply for a visitor visa in order to maintain a legal status. If you´re planning to apply for BOWP, then you´ll need to do it outside Quebec. And this is just my personal opinion but, the sooner you leave...

    Two Year Open Permit Extension

...applied for permanent residency through an economic immigration program like Express Entry, there could be options to obtain a bridging open work permit (once you are selected, your application submitted and accepted). However it doesn't sound like that's something you have done or explored.

Deck officers, water transport (NOC 2273)

Thank you so much for enlightening us. Those jobs you mentioned are exactly what he's eyeing for in Canada. Now, I have some followup questions. If he follows me while I'm studying there, is there a chance for him to land those jobs (assuming he has already gone through those bridging courses)...

Thank you for your response. I think will take a chance by applying BOWP with a letter of explanation in the month of January if I don't get PR by then.

Applied for CEC and Bridging work permit, still want to be prepared for worst case scenario

Absolutely wrong in question number 1! If your PR application passes the R10 checks (which is a general check by case analyst to see if your EE profile has all the required documents and the documents are valid ...) AND you applied for the BOWP within 4 months before your current work permit...

Hi, I can't remember and unfortunately I don't have access to my account right now to tell you. I left the details of...

    Reasons for Rejection (Faraz Summary)

Sorry to hear about the rejection. About the bridging work permit, it's linked to the APR that you had submitted. Since that's been refused, BOWP application won't be approved. Not sure if Implied status will be valid now that APR is refused.

    CEC October 2014 Applicants

I can only safely answer one of your questions- BOWP stands for bridging open work permit. You can google it to read all about it. But basically if you have an AOR and your current work permit is about to expire in four months or less you can apply for the BOWP in order to continue working in...

Urgent: CIC refused my work permit application, ITA already received!

My advice is get a very good lawyer to look at this and see if the refusal is in order or if a reconsideration is possible. Alternatively if you just go ahead and apply for restoration its most likely to visitor status and no guarantee you will get it. All the best!

Complicated case. Very stressed, please help.

I think your situation is sufficiently complex that you would do well to get a consult with a good immigration lawyer (not a consultant). My thoughts (but again, get a consult with an immigration lawyer): - There's a decent chance you will lose the 50 points if your employer is terminating you...
