If you want to continue to work you need to apply for a closed work permit using your current LMIA. WP needs to be approved before your pgwp ends to keep working.

You can do that however you won’t get approval for that work permit. Also if you got nominated before expiration date you can apply for closed work permit.

Also - if your employer is willing, they can apply for an LMO about 4 months before your PGWP expires. There are special (easier) rules for the LMO if you're currently on a PGWP - no advertising requirements (employer does not have to prove they tried to hire a Canadian first). See...
