How to apply for bridging visa

Hi guys, I've received my AOR and I need to apply for a BOWP in order to get implied status before my current visa runs out. I know I'm eligible for it, I just don't know HOW to actually apply for it? Where do I start? Any help would be greatly appreciated! Soph

Degree Assessment WES Express Entry Points

Hi guys, I have a bachelor in Physiotherapy, but the WES has only awarded me a Secondary school diploma and college-level certificate (one year). I have already updated the CIC application. Do I leave the option in there that I have a Bachelor of 3 years and that the accreditation has been...

Stay in Canada as a visitor

I'm getting my degree accredited, which will hopefully give me enough points, but I'm running out of time. I do have family here in Canada and means to support myself. Do you know if I have to "activate" this visitor visa by leaving the country?

Stay in Canada as a visitor

Hi guys, my visa is about to expire and I'm planning on staying in Canada as a visitor until I get invited to apply for PR. I'm a German citizen and I know I don't need a visa to stay as a visitor. How long can I stay and do I have to leave Canada and return as a visitor, just like you do when...

    Bridging visa with Express Entry

Hi guys, I'm currently in the EE and I'm wondering if there is a way to apply for an open work permit or a bridging visa? I know that it was possible with the old system and I'm eligible for the CEC through the EE. Any ideas or experiences? Thanks! Soph

    Express Entry - Appeal??

Thanks guys! It's definitely good to know that you need the ECA if they classified you under the Federal Skilled Worker program. I'm just wondering why I wasn't classified under Canadian Experience Class straight away as that is clearly what I'm going for and I wouldn't have needed the ECA. My...

    Express Entry - Appeal??

Thanks so much for your reply! I consider the Express Entry a bit of a lottery if you don't have a sponsored job... Do I always have to get an ECA, even if I'm not using this degree as the reason to apply for PR?

    Express Entry - Appeal??

Hi guys, a few months ago I applied for the Express Entry, was pulled out of the lottery and applied for PR. I applied as NOC2282 (IT technician), but I also have a bachelor in physiotherapy. I don't have enough work experience as a physio and did not do an equivalency exam, therefore I applied...

    Not enough experience?!?

Thanks for your reply! So, just for clarification: once I'm registered and have a permanent job offer, I can apply for the FSW even though I don't have 1 yr of work experience?

    Not enough experience?!?

Hi guys, I'm a qualified physiotherapist and have graduated in Germany. Unfortunately, I don't have a year of experience. Can I still apply for the Skilled Worker? Is there any other way to apply for a permanent residency? My parents are permanent residents, however, I'm 26, so I'm...

    Family sponsoring for independent children??

Funny, that was my moms first suggestion as well ;) When you apply for the Skilled Worker Visa, do they check with previous employers? What evidence do you have to show for the work experience? I'll try to get the necessary experience in Canada under the work & travel visa.

    Family sponsoring for independent children??

Hi, ya I received the work and travel visa but would like to stay longer than the one yr and eventually apply for the permanent residency.

    Family sponsoring for independent children??

Ah, that's a pity! I can't apply for the Skilled Worker as I don't have a full yr of work experience as a physiotherapist, so my only option would be to start studying something if I want to stay in Canada... (or to find someone who would sponsor me)

    Family sponsoring for independent children??

Hi, I think it was available in 2010 or 2011. I checked today if I would be eligible for a permanent residency and it stated that I might be "eligible for the family sponsoring in the future" so I was wondering when that will be.

Relocating to Canada on a work & travel visa

Hi guys, I just received my work & travel visa but am planning on relocating to Canada on a permanent basis. I'm planning on extending the visa or apply for another one, such as a student visa. I want to ship a few boxes to Canada and was wondering if customs checks this when I arrive at the...

Work permit approved, but for how long??

Hi guys, I'm German, 25 yrs old and applied for a work & travel visa. I now received a work permit, but it doesn't really say how long I can work for, other than the usual that a foreigner can work up to 4 yrs and then has to wait 2 yrs. It doesn't state work& travel anywhere. Does that mean...
