Hello everyone, i submitted my application under CEC recently and I'm still waiting to hear back. Processing times will take around 5 months, but I really need to go back home to see my family. I'm worried i'll get a request for additional documents when i'm away and won't have enough time to put the documents together and resubmit. I was speaking to a family friend who immigrated to canada in the early 2000s and he said i have nothing to worry about, but I'm not sure I can trust his word since things changed so much from back then to now. My trip will be 2 weeks long max, I just need to visit my family.

Do you think it's too risky to go now? Do you know how the process of them asking for extra documents works? Anything helps, please let me know what you think. Thank you for your time

What stage is your application at? Are you BIL/Med pass? Or have you just received your AoR?

I forgot what's happening with BIL with CECs these days, but if you are just AoR, your only issue would be to give Biometrics after receiving a BIL. I doubt IRCC will send an ADR that will not leave you with sufficient time (I highly doubt IRCC will send you ADR before document completeness check).

You can also come back early if there's an ADR that requires you to be in Canada to gather docs. Honestly, nothing to worry about.

I gave my biometrics a couple of years ago when applying for my PGWP, I did an upfront medical exam for this CEC application, and I received an AoR right after I submitted my application. You're right, although it would be expensive, worst case I can just come back if they request something that I need to be here for. I really appreciate your response thank you!
