Hello everyone,

I just received my eligibility as following, I included my spouse and child as inland dependents but in the letter they got different application number than me and saying processing office outside Canada will process it. Does anyone know what is happening? Thanks

This letter refers to your application for permanent residence in Canada under the Protected Persons class.
It has been determined that you meet the eligibility requirements to apply for permanent residence as a Protected Person. Please note that a final decision will not be made until all remaining requirements for becoming a permanent resident have been met. These requirements may include medical, security and background checks for you and, if applicable, your family members. You cannot become
a permanent resident until you and all your family members have met these requirements.
Please also note that you do not need to submit additional information in response to this notice letter.
If additional information is required by our office, a separate request letter will be sent to you.
The overseas office is responsible for processing the applications for permanent residence of your
family members outside Canada and will determine if they meet the eligibility requirements. You have
listed the following as accompanying family members outside Canada:
Operations Support Centre
DR Application #
DR 1
DR 2
Dependents listed above have received or will receive a document checklist shortly.

Hi,
I have my spouse who is in Canada too. On my eligibility letter it says same thing. But I believe they will get pr at time same time with us.

Thank you for sharing! Yeah because they gave me a separate application number which started to wondering what’s going on.
Yes. From beginning my partner has different application number too. We applied for pr and after almost 6 months I received AOR and police certificate request. He received email to his own account requesting medical exam and fingerprints. That’s how we know he has different application number too.

But both of us received pre arrival letters separately. Eligibility letter only me which is mentioning his name on this letter like your case.

They will receive it after you.
That’s not entirely accurate. If your family members are in Canada with you, you can all receive permanent residence together as a family. This rule—requiring separate processing—only applies when family members are outside Canada. In those cases, IRCC transfers their files to visa offices abroad to process their permanent residence visas.

Thank you. How after? 50 months after like dependents who are outside of Canada?
Don’t stress yourself — if your family is with you in Canada, you’ll all receive permanent residence at the same time. Their applications will be processed locally, not through a visa office abroad.

Delays usually happen when family members are outside Canada. In those cases, IRCC transfers their files to embassies overseas, and processing only begins after the principal applicant in Canada receives their PR or Confirmation of Permanent Residence (COPR). You’ll get a letter telling you which embassy will handle their case.
But that entire process does not apply to you since your family is already here. Don’t rely too much on what everyone says — and be cautious with IRCC agents. Many of them don’t fully understand the specific application types and often just read general instructions

Thank you very much. Since we submit our application may spouse got medical exam request and fingerprints. He passed eligibility, medical, criminality. He received pre arrival letter like me. Our security not started yet and info sharing in process. Everything same for me and him.
We applied in May 30th, 2023.
