Most do not wait 2+ years to get their initial asylum claim heard although that is changing. Would encourage you to look at sometimes. Many are in Canada for 5-10 year before they get PR but many have zero pathway to PR especially not a guaranteed one. I understand the frustration but I also don’t think you realize what others are also experiencing on their attempts to get PR in Canada. Having travelled enough, been involved in foreign affairs, being aware of geopolitics, etc. I also can think of millions of people sitting in a refugee camps, living precariously in a neighbouring country, living in fear in their own country or even in the US as an asylum claimant/refugee/asylee these days who are in much worse situation and are desperate to move to a safe country longterm. Life is all about perspective. As I specified in my other post I also get frustrated with wait times for healthcare in Canada but I quickly remind myself that a large portion of the world has no or minimal access to healthcare and we are still very lucky.
