The fund was just for only my trip. My spouse qualifies for PGWP and the end of her studies. She is studying a Diploma course. I am on a full time employment in my country.
Recently, I had an organization that offered skilled training sponsorship with a deposit for one year upkeep, should I accept this offer? Will it help me in securing visa to Canada?

Thank you in advance.
My spidey senses are all tingling on that

Why are they asking for a deposit?
How much is said deposit ?
What’s the deposit to be used for ?
Interest paid on said deposit.

I’ve been around the block working in my life and have never been asked to give a deposit when I start working or training

And I hate AI , but just a quick asking if a deposit is legal in Ontario for training gave this

In most jurisdictions, including Ontario, an employer cannot legally ask for a deposit for training as employees are generally entitled to be paid for their time spent on job-related training, making it a violation to require a deposit upfront; if an employer does ask for a deposit, it's important to consult with an employment lawyer to understand your rights.

Adding a few years ago I was being trained to fuel aircraft at the airport . Skilled, calculating fuel density , types of aircraft etc
No deposit was required for this training
I was PAID for the training as required by law . If I wasn’t being paid it would be akin in doing the work / training for free

And that’s illegal

Read my write up well. I am not depositing rather they are depositing for me and they will provide a document to that effect.

I agree that read like a scam.

Good day great fam.
I have this concern and I need your candid advice as usual. My spousal study permits expires by July 2025 though he has applied for an extension, is it advisable for me to reapply for visiting visa with spouse inviting me now or wait till his study permit extension is approved or if I am given visa that is tied to the July expiration of his study permit, can I extend my visiting visa when his study permit extension is finally granted?.

I shall be waiting for your invaluable counsel.
Thank you in anticipated.

A TRV is not tied to spouse’s study permit since you are a visitor up to 6 months if CBSA decides and cannot work. If approved, you may be able to extend stay. You have been refused so only reapply if you can address the reasons for refusal with new information. Your family ties are in Canada so chances are low.

Since studies are completed soon and with processing times, why apply now? Why not wait until her PGWP is approved?

Thank you Naturgrl for your useful and helpful replies. I will reapply now. His studies ends in 2026 reason for study permit extension.

No it won’t help and not a great idea to lie to IRCC who will compare to your previous application. You need to show you can afford to pay for travel yourself. Having you family in Canada makes your ties to Canada extremely strong. Unless you qualify for an OWP you would have been aware that there was no guarantee you could visit your family in Canada. Your wife and child may have to visit you. Would add your child may also struggle to remain in Canada as well longterm.
Good day, canuck78,
Just a quick one, my spouse has two years to graduate, does she need to show two years tuition fees and upkeep in her application for study permit extension?

She should show how she will fund the next year but also should be able to have a realistic way to fund the rest of her studies.

Good day, helpful family.
I am most grateful for your useful answers and directives.
I need your guidance again. I am ready to reapply for a visiting visa to Canada to visit my family. My wife is studying with a study permit that is supposed to expire by July, this year. She has applied for study permit extension.
My question is, should I go ahead and submit my application or wait for her study permit extension's approval.
What are the consequences of applying now?.
If I am granted visa based on her July study permit with July 2025 expiration date, can I extend my visa to the new date that will be approved for her?

Waiting in anticipation...

Are you truly coming as a visitor and can address the reasons for refusal if spouse is studying in Canada? If approved, your TRV is not tied to her permit at all. Why not wait until applying for PGWP and if she has eligible job then you apply for SOWP.

Thank you Naturgrl,
She has a long time to study, and I need to visit them. It is cheaper for me to visit them than them visiting me.
All reasons for refusal have been address. Application will definitely receive approval this time.
I am most happy to know that my TRV is not tied to her permit.
I will fall back here during the application when I need further clarifications on the process.
Good luck to me..
Thank you very much.

Who is ”them”? What are reasons for refusal? If reason is family ties in Canada then you cannot address that. If family is in Canada then chances are low. Being cheaper to visit doesn’t help you. If reason was inconsistent visit then you are trying to move to Canada and stay. She can still visit you. Again wait for her PGWP in an eligible NOC.
