Just an update on this, my fiance and I got our PR in February at the same timeWell, i called IRCC and they said I can add her now by filling certain forms and paying the PR amount for her and all that. There is no way i could have added her when we literally legally become common law 2 weeks before i got my p1. Any ways, I will follow the instructions and update this forum as the process continues.
Thanks for your help. I did this and we both got our PR less than 5 months later. I appreciate your helpYou can send a web form stating the change in your marital status. To the best Information I have found is that your partners application will be processed separately. Since you’re close to getting your PR, you should get your PR and add her to your file. The process is separate for both applicants since yours is almost done. Her file will go through all the process. Timeline is different for everyone. Maybe, it will be a different process after your PR (spousal application instead of Refugee dependent).
Congratulations Friend, Good to hear some positive news. It's been a long journey. I applied for my PR a month after you, hopefully me and other Jan 2023 applicants will be getting some good news soon. Finally, ecopr Today from Montreal27 months
which forms they wanted your finance to fill out?Just an update on this, my fiance and I got our PR in February at the same time
Congratulations and thank you for the update! May I ask when you initially submitted your PR application? Also, I assume your fiance is not a protected person and has been living in Canada, correct?Just an update on this, my fiance and I got our PR in February at the same time
Is your friend a protected person? Which province if yes. This is actually crazy! My friend got her PR in a year and now applying for citizenship and most of us are waiting more than 2 years and still no decision!
it will for sure as they stop processing when you are out for a long period so count 3 4 months extra in your application or may be 9 months.I travelled after applying for pr but I don’t know if that’s going to affect
Yes, your are right but most of them was for 2020-2022 and once 2023 started the time lineIs your friend a protected person? Which province if yes.

I submitted the PR in Sept 2022. I got the portal 1 email in Sep 2024 and then added my spouse who was on an open work permit (spousal permit through me). and then we both got it in Feb 2025Congratulations and thank you for the update! It was mostly submitting proof of relationship, plus the imm5406e form for her. They also asked that I fill that form too due to change in my marital status. Asides the form, we sent pictures and proof of relationship, (same ones we used for spousal work permit).which forms they wanted your finance to fill out?
