Anyone else obsessively checking PR status daily while stuck in PGWP limbo? What are you doing to pass the time?

Hey everyone,

I’m in BC, and like a lot of you, I’ve applied for PR while on my PGWP, and now I find myself logging in every morning, obsessively checking for updates. Feels like time is moving at a snail’s pace, and I wish I could speed things up. I'm curious to know your ages and your plans for life? I'm only 24. Wondering if any of you are younger/older!

My timeline so far:

Applied for PR on Feb 4, 2025 with a consultant

Received AOR on Feb 27, 2025

Now it’s just a waiting game, and I’m curious—what are you all doing during this time in your provinces? Any fun activities, side projects, or ways to pass the time? For me, it’s just work, random day trips to Vancouver, and trying not to lose my mind.

Would love to hear what others are up to while waiting—drop your timelines too if you want!

A watched pot never boils!

I know it's tough but seriously try to force yourself to not check the status for a day, then try two, then three and so on until the amount of days you deem necessary while still checking your email in case you get any important updates. If you have anyone you could ask, try getting help or reminders from them to not do it.

I know it's easier said than done but remember that checking the status of the application will not make any news come faster so there's no point on checking it every few hours.

Regarding what I do... I try to read, watch shows and play some videogames. Look into what's going on in your city: concerts, exhibitions, markets... Working out is also a good idea if it's an option for you.

Try to hang out with friends and loved ones as much as possible. I know this might sound a bit cheesy but a fun evening with friends will make you forget about the wait and focus on what matters: the love of the people around you.

Edit: Sometimes I find that checking this forum often contributes to overthinking and worrying which inevitably makes you want to check the status of your application and it becomes an uroboros of stress and pain. I try to limit my time here as well because of that.
