Baby born in India , applied for proof of citizen and passport , EXIT PERMIT FRRO????

Hello please anyone explain to
Me what the exit permit is ? I am Canadian and My baby was born in India and I am getting the proof of Canadian citizenship and Canadian passport soon. What is an exit permit? I called the office and They said I need a visa? Visa for what India or Canada??? This is so confusing why do I need a visa if I am leaving the country? Also website said no need to apply under 12 years of age , She is 5 months old.

hello, there I am in the same boat I think you need to apply for the babies oci/evisa since the baby will have a foreign passport.

also can you answer how did you apply the babies passport?did you go in person or sent application by mail?

Can you tell me the timeline of the citizenship certificate and passport. I have applied still waiting for that.
I am canadian and my baby born in india in feb 2024.
Any info would be helpful. you can post it in the forum itself.
currently we are in india.

Thanks for the help. I have received the certificate. Now i am applying for the passport from india. How did you apply and where did you submitted in India. Via Courier?. Which location did you send it.

Also did you applied for the exit permit. when you are free, can you guide me on the exit permit process.

Query is same, what is process for Exit permit? How long it take? What documents they ask?
For Canadian Citizenship Certificate to apply online, what document I need, do they ask any follow-up\Additional documents?

For the certificate i used the online application form. I got the e-certificate.
below are the documents i have submitted.
1] India Birth certifcate.
2] India Aadhar card.
3]digital photo and Receipt of Digital photo.
4] Parents passport and certificate.
5] Marriage certificate.
6] A letter explaining that my baby born in India and the child does not possess any Canada proof as of now.

Currently i am planning to apply for passport.

1. Sorry for stupid question, But Aadhar card is of Kids correct?
2. How long it take to get e-certificate?
3. Both parents are Canadian or only 1 in your case.

In my case wife is still Holding PR status and I am Canadian PP Holder with OCI.

Yes, it is for your Kid
2. How long it take to get e-certificate?
It took ~1 year for me.
3. Both parents are Canadian or only 1 in your case.
in your case, if either one of you is a Canadian citizen then by default your kid is a Canadian.
