Hi,
I have received request for more information few months after I submitted the sponsorship application for my daughter.
One of the things they have asked is "List Absences from Canada: For the last five years or since obtaining permanent resident status in Canada (whichever period is shorter), provide a list of all absences from Canada (including all dates of departure as well as return dates to Canada) This must be received at this office by: 2025/02/23"

I have spent only 275 days in Canada in the last 5 years. I am settled in Canada now but I did not meet the residency obligations when I moved here. I was issued a 44(1) report which was later dropped. So there is no open 44(1) issue against me.

I have also applied for PR card renewal for myself and in that application I provided a thorough explanation of my absences from Canada.

My Question: Do I need to send all those explanations for absences with this application too ?? Although in their request they have only asked for listing the absences.

It appears you also filed for PR card renewal based on H&C which seems to be why the 44(1) was dropped. They basically punted the decision to be made by someone else and you still risk losing your PR status. There is likely going to be a chain reaction and until your status is confirmed your child’s sponsorship may be put on hold. IRCC is clearly aware you are not compliant with your RO. You need to be working with a lawyer.

Hello scylla - Thank you for your response. In this request, they have asked for "List Absences from Canada ". I have listed my absences in the following format.
From DateTo DateStatus
Date 1date 2present in Canada
Date 2Date 3absent from Canada
Date 3Date 4present in Canada

They have NOT asked for explanation for absences. That is why I asked whether I need to provide explanation for absences?

The explanation for absences that I have provided in my other application is over 100 pages long. I wanted to ask whether I need to upload those 100+ pages in this application too even though in this request they have NOT asked for explanation of absences.

Do you still suggest that I upload the 100+ pages of explantion with this application too?
