Can anybody please shine some light on the necessity of having Canadian passport for OCI application and Indian passport renunciation? I cannot apply for a passport as passport offices are closed but I have the citizenship certificate in hand. TIA

I just called yesterday and they said it is open for urgent travel-related passport application at this point. If anybody else has any input please let us know! TIA

Service Canada offices are still closed so only urgent passport processing is taking place.

Hi, I am not sure about that. I think in the first place they are sending invites to people who are in Canada, but you may ask IRCC helpline about that. I never got a call BTW, I only got eCas update and an email.
