Not really. When I entered through the border in July the border agent said I will start my 5 year RO period from now. I also travelled in December to my country for a month without any issues. I am also travelling in the summers.

update: I entered through the border without any issues on 12th July. Applied for PR renewal 14th July. Received email to pick it up 1st october. Picked it up 16th october. Its a five-year card and from the expiry date it was issued on 19th september, within my processing time.

did you try calling IRCC? I submitted my renewal based on H&C (formal positive h&c decision made by minister’s delegate 4 months ago) on 14th July. I called them last week they said its still in the initial stages but apparently they’ve started processing it. I’m getting worried.

I plan on taking with me all supporting documents including the email informing me of the MD decision, proof of enrollment into university, im also completing 2 online ontario highschool courses as program requirements for my university so proof of that as well.

what timeframe is considered “reasonably soon”. Is a little less than 4 months appropriate?
