    Spousal sponsorship

We got an e-mail saying: GCKey says: Review of eligibility We are reviewing whether you meet the eligibility requirements. Final decision Your application is in progress. We will send you a message once the final decision has been made. And there is an invitation to pre-arrival services...

Do application updates occur on the weekends?

Yes. We got our AOR on a Saturday, and we got our PR portal invitation yesterday (Saturday) as well.

    November 2020 / Inland Sponsorship

We got... something, today. ECAS says "Decision Made" under both sponsor and principal applicant. PA got an "IRCC Permanent Residence Confirmation Portal"; the PDF begins with "Your application for permanent residence has been approved". In GCkey we got "Invitation to pre-arrival services"...

    November 2020 / Inland Sponsorship

Medical passed two weeks ago. We're still waiting for eligibility to start ("We will send you a message when we start reviewing your eligibility."). See timeline in my signature. I wonder if people who got delayed AORs (ours was on July 10 for a November 5 application) will also have delays with...

    November 2020 / Inland Sponsorship

IRCC's legendary inconsistency persists. Last month my MP's office got info from IRCC saying that the application is prospective, but also that criminality was in process, as well as eligibility for the sponsor and the applicant. This struck me as odd, because if they've started processing, then...

Why are newer applications being processed before older ones?

AORs are important too, though. It's pretty unnerving when you've waited 8 months and haven't got an AOR, because until they send an AOR, they can return the application for incompleteness. Then you'd have to go all the way back to the start.

Nice timeline. I was also a November 5 applicant, but I haven't even got AOR yet  Edit: I see you were actually November 9. Well, anyway, congrats on getting this far.

Does India still have a high number of marriages of convenience?

This is by category, I was looking at the "Sponsored Spouse or Partner" row.

Does India still have a high number of marriages of convenience?

I have no idea about the issue discussed here but I do find it interesting that India accounts for such a large proportion of spousal sponsorships. Of the 54775 permanent residents admitted to Canada via spousal sponsorship in 2019, 10855 (19.8%) were from India. Compared with 5040 (9.2%) from...

Why are newer applications being processed before older ones?

The information on the spreadsheets doesn't support this. People from all sorts of countries are long overdue for getting an AOR. My applicant is from the USA and we have no AOR after 8 months now. There's no pattern to it.

    Cant sign forms

I think some forms might not have a field in which to type an electronic signature. Also note that you must sign all forms by hand even if you also typed a signature. Don't risk your application getting returned.
