Note! You only need to do this after you've gotten an appointment at a different consulate.
You can wait till getting close to your appointment to do this. I did mine 3 days before my appointment.
All the best!
I never said you can't interview at a different consulate. The whole point is the consulate on the ds160 and the one for the interview has to match. My consulate was Toronto. Got an interview at Vancouver and filled a new ds 160.
You wouldn't know which consulate has spots. Just have to apply and see. You don't pay for the ds 160 form. Yes, you can redo it by retreiving your application and changing the consulate. That's it
Because that wasn't the consulate you chose when filling the form. The consulate on the ds 160 form and where you would be doing the interview has to match.
Make sure you go over ds160 very well. Make sure you show them you just want to visit. Have ties to Canada. They already make their decision before getting there. You'll do great. All the best!
This thread is for those who applied for PR in 2023 after getting refugee status.
If you're still waiting for your hearing, you're not there yet.
All the best!
You can! I got the same thing for Vancouver and then got my visa.
You'll have to get a new ds-160 and take both for your interview. I wish you all the best!
You are now applying for PR in Canada so it's not Canada.
Are you a legal resident in any other country? (your country of birth not included)
In most cases, it'll be no but I don't know your circumstance
