Does anyone know how if one has to fill absence from canada before becoming PR for the 5 yeareligibility period..or is it after becoming PR we have to mention those absence dates in the Physical presence calculator?
They don't really explain what is the exact issue. Maybe your time as a visitor is not showing in their record as they state? That's all that I can figure out from this. If that's the case then it might not help in resending your application. It might just then be wise to wait until 3 years of PR are complete and then you apply for citizenship.yes, why not. this is their letter
This refers to your application for citizenship which you signed on 2011-11-07,
Based on the review and initial completeness check of your application, it appears that there has been an error in your physical presence calculation. Therefore, based on the information you have provided. your application does not confirm your physical presence in Canada for the required number of days.
Since October 11, 2017, the Citizenship Act requires that a person be physically present in Canada for at
least 1095 days in the five years immediately before the date of the application For the purposes of the
Act, physical presence is calculated in the following manner:
One full day is counted for each day of physical presence in Canada after becoming a permanent resident One day is counted for each day of physical presence in Canada as an muthorzef Temporar Resident or Protected Person before becoming a permanent resident
Only the five (5) years before the date of application can be counted
On your application and the physical presence calculation that you completed, you indicated having a total of 1130 days of physical presence. However, besed on the review of the information provided by you, and following an initial completeness check of your time in Canada prior to becoming a permanent resident, it appears that you did not accumulate 1095 stays of physical presence before applyre
This discrepancy can occur for a number of reasons, however, most of the time this is due to the
applicant's error in the physical presence calculation in your particular circumstance,
Some or all of the time reported on the Physical Presence Calculator (prior to the Permanent
Resident date) could not be confirmed in our records Please note that you can only claim time
spent in Canada prior to the Permanent Resident date if you were considered a Temporary
Resident or Protected Person as defined by the immigration and Refugee Protection Act
Based on our review, your application does not confirm your physical presence in Canada for the required number of days Since it appears, following our initial completeness check, that you do mot meet one of the eligibility requirements for submitting a citizenship application, your application cannot be accepted into processing and is therefore being returned to you
We understand that this news will be disappointing to you and we encourage you to submit a new application when you have accumulated the required amount of physical presence. If you choose to
Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada
Immigration, Réfugiés et Citoyenneté Canada
reapply, you must submit a new application form with a new Physical Presence Calculator printout along with the required fees, photos and supporting documents.
Further information on eligibility requirements is available on our website at
https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/canadian-citizenship html). You are encouraged to review the requirements to ensure you are eligible before submitting a new application.
If you choose not to reapply, and would like to request a refund, please see the following website for further instruction: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/fees/refund.asp

I think if you fill out the physical presence calculator on their website it will only consider the days from the time of your entry so you don't need to fill out the days before your entry separately. I will be doing mine in a few days from now but when i last checked it asked me all the questions for my eligibility period and filled out the calculator for the whole 5 years.Does anyone know how if one has to fill absence from canada before becoming PR for the 5 yeareligibility period..or is it after becoming PR we have to mention those absence dates in the Physical presence calculator?
Thanks. Yes, their explanation doesn't help. They don't really explain what is the exact issue. Maybe your time as a visitor is not showing in their record as they state? That's all that I can figure out from this. If that's the case then it might not help in resending your application. It might just then be wise to wait until 3 years of PR are complete and then you apply for citizenship.
That's all that I can think of at the moment.
Not necessary AFAIK.Do I have to inform IRCC if I renewed my passport after applying for citizenship and while my application is in process ? Or no need ?
@rajkamalmohanram
thank you
this is the email subject that I received at the time of AoRHi All,
I am yet to receive the AOR but received the email that application is created on 8th Feb.
I checked my spam emails etc but still no AOR emails received.
Any idea what is the subject of the AOR email and who can further help on the same?
I found this: Can I submit the results from a third-party language test that I took when I first applied to immigrate to Canada as proof I meet the citizenship language requirement? (cic.gc.ca) Yes. You may send the same third-party language test results from your immigration application with your application for citizenship. There is no expiration date for third-party language test results for citizenship applicants.Good Day,
I am looking to get some advise regarding the Citizenship application for my wife. She came to Canada as a Spousal Dependent PR. She had given IELTS general in 2017 however, as she came on Spousal Dependent, this IELTS certificate was not used for PR Process. Can we still use it for Citizenship application or no?
Any suggestion would be greatly appreciated
It's different in this case, because although she took the test, she did not use it in her immigration application.I found this: Can I submit the results from a third-party language test that I took when I first applied to immigrate to Canada as proof I meet the citizenship language requirement? (cic.gc.ca) Yes. You may send the same third-party language test results from your immigration application with your application for citizenship. There is no expiration date for third-party language test results for citizenship applicants.
Based on the above, I believe she can use the 2017 IELTS certificate even if she didn't use it for PR, as it says that there is no expiration date for IELTS scores for citizenship applications. It doesn't matter if it was previously submitted or not.
1. Yes.Hi everyone,
I want to inquire about two confusions regarding the requirement to apply for the citizenship application, mentioned below:
1. "You must have filed at least 3 tax returns in the last 5 years from the date you sign your citizenship application. Exceptions apply for very few people. "
In my case, I filed the tax for the year 2018. lived in Canada for around 4 months and 20 days and I did not earn in Canada in the year 2018 but since I filed the tax so I have the NOA for 2018). Does that count towards the above mentioned requirement for the citizenship application? Will the NOA for 2018 will be accepted along with the NOA for 2019 and 2020?
2. Q12 (b): Tell us when you filed your income taxes in the last five (5) years using the chart below.
* Enter the tax year and indicate:
* If you were required to file for the particular year AND
* If you actually filed the taxes
The above question is from the citizenship application, what does this part mean "If you were required to file for the particular year" ? In my case, for the year 2018 what should be entered?
Any suggestion would be highly appreciated. @rajkamalmohanram can you suggest something to this?
