Hi Everyone,

I have a T4 for 2018 from my previous employer and the address mentioned in T4 is that of the HQ location in Toronto. But I used to work in their branch office which is located in Scarborough. On my payslips as well the letterhead mentions the HQ location and their is a small section where the branch location is mentioned as Scarborough.

I am confused here on which location address to mention in my Work History section? Should I mention the HQ address or the Branch location?

During Pre-ITA I had mentioned the HQ address. Should I change it now to Branch? I just want to attach the Reference letter with this T4 before submitting it for Post-ITA phase.

Any help would be appreciated

Thanks!

Put the branch location . That address on the T4 matches what the company has on their payroll aka RP account with the CRA.
You can put a brief note saying the T4 was issued out of the HQ address, but you’re assigned to a branch office in Scarborough

@Copingwithlife thanks for the reply. I have the below list of documents:-
1) Reference letter from employer (letterhead with HQ location)
2) T4 (HQ location)
3) Payslips (location mentioned earlier in the thread)

If I change my address now after receiving ITA it wouldn't be a problem right?

Please let me know.

Thanks!

No. As mentioned the address shown on the T4 is the address the company gave to the CRA when their RP/Payroll account was created . Example ; I worked in Toronto, but my companies HQ office was in Chicago . My T4’s had the Chicago address on them, even though I physically worked in the Toronto location
Changing the address after the ITA will not have any affect or repercussions
Numerous companies in Canada have a HQ location, then locations spread thru out the country
I believe that some payrolls systems will not allow a T4 issuance unless the address matches the one held by the CRA, so that’s why companies put the HQ address versus the actual work location
Unless they have subsidiary RP accounts specific to that work location for accounting purposes

Hey! Could you please guide, is this counted towards CEC? My T4 has a US address, my pay roll has a Quebec address. I am yet to receive an NOA. Just confused if this is counted as Canadian experience. Thanks!
