August 2020 - Citizenship application

Completes 3 weeks today since the Ceremony,
Still waiting for the citizenship certificate here.

I know normal processing time is 2-4 weeks, but I guess @royce110 mentioned that it reached them in a week, and my hopes have been high from day 3.

another week, some more wait.

I wonder if royce's office is same as yours? It seems East coast in general is slow. Still 3 weeks is long by any standards. I was checking Vancouver and they average with 3-7 days. Will share my experience - fingers crossed.

How long after your oath, your status for oath ceremony changed to completed?

The Oath was on a Saturday. On Monday it was complete and updated.

Might cause more delay in some applications, an acquaintance of mine has now been waiting for 3 yrs for the completion of his application. Applied about 16 months before me.

I received it in exactly 5 business days after the oath date. I dont know if living closer to the IRCC office helped, I am 15 mins away.

Update on my application - it is now marked as Closed. Waiting for the certificate now.

• August 10, 2020 - application submitted / mailed via courier
• August 13, 2020 - application delivered
• November 25, 2020 - AOR
• January 26, 2021 - online tracker shows application status as In Progress
• March 2, 2021 - background verification moved to Completed
• October 29, 2021 - test status updated to In Progress
• November 3, 2021 - test invitation email received
• November 5, 2021 - test taken
• November 8, 2021 - test status updated to Completed
• January 7, 2022 - ECAS shows Decision Made + online tracker history shows Language, Physical Presence and Prohibitions marked as Completed
• January 10, 2022 - online tracker date updated but still shows overall application as In Progress
• February 11, 2022 - oath updated to In Progress
• February 24, 2022 - oath ceremony
• February 25, 2022 - oath marked as Completed and application in online tracker now shows Closed.

Fingers crossed for everyone waiting - it'll be worth the wait

Because it is not done until it is all done.
I am going to apply now for the passport, in person option chosen, however there is no tickets purchased for any journey yet.

what scares me the most is dealing with the Indian authorities, be it OCI timeline or the Visitor Visa application (as I can’t really wait for them to take another 8 weeks to process OCI),

but yes, will continue to post updates.

i finished my oath like 4 days ago, but my tracker status and ecas status is still not updated, and definitely no signs of certificate yet.
Should i be worried ? how long does it take for the status to be updated in tracker after the oath ceremony ? and how long does it take to get the citzenship certificate ?

No, you shouldn’t. People who haven’t been invited for the test or the oath on the other hand have reason to worry.

Status update can take up to 1 week in some cases more.

Depending on where you live and Canada post workload, the certificate can take 3-4 weeks to arrive.
