Hi All!
Recently a friend of mine received his copr and he will be travelling in April. Country of residence is India.

Now, the most important thing for him is to get his moms visit visa. She is a home maker and he is the only child. She doesn't have any property.

Can anybody please tell me on which visa it would be easier to bring her to Canada?

Also, how to show home ties in this case.

@legalfalcon any inputs?

There is only one visa since friend is not yet PR or established in Canada - visitor visa. She needs to show funds, travel history, ties to home country, reasons to travel etc.

The best option is for your friend to move to Canada first and establish himself in Canada for 6-8 months before his mother applies to visit Canada. If his mother applies now, it can create the impression she plans to try to use the visitor visa to try to move to Canada with him long term. Overall, it can really increase the chances of refusal. So the best bet is to wait the 6-8 months before applying. Without owning property, her profile is already on the weaker side. So all the more reason to wait until her son has lived in Canada for a while before she applies.

Does she have savings? Has she previously traveled to countries requiring visas such as the US or UK?

Just clarifying that his mother can’t move to Canada with him. She’ll only be able to visit for a certain period of time but will need to plan on returning home. If she is unable to live alone then moving to Canada may not be the best option.

Before your friend do his landing, couldn't you invite your friend's mother to try come to Canada to visit? If she got the visa, she can go with your friend to Canada.

I'm not sure, but will definitely suggest this to him. Thank you :)

Hi, I have a question.

I applied for my mum and dad's visit visa application together online. They got biometrics and went together for it but for some reason they only updated the status for my father as biometrics received not for my mother.

Both applications were submitted together as joint travellers.

Anyone has experienced this who can help.

Give it 2 weeks. Both should have their biometrics received. There can be variability between when biometrics are received even if they do it at the same time.
