Hi All

I’ve completed my path ceremony but had to travel back due to still ongoing contract with work.

My cert will be posted out to me, just wondering can guarantor and references be someone local in UK or does it have to be specifically Canadian citizens?

Thanks
Dal

Your References do not have to be Canadian citizens. Your Guarantor has to be a Canadian citizen.

It seems the guarantor doesn't have to be Canadian if you are applying from outside Canada. In the link you included there is a section about the requirements of the guarantor in case you are applying from outside Canada.

So to re-confirm....references and Guarantor can be in theory ALL UK citizens as that's where I'll be applying from?
They have given the list of professionals that could be your guarantors if applying outside Canada this includes doctors, lawyers, judge, dean of college, bank officer etc.

Thanks for advice, I’ve been trying to search for a thread in regards to someone who’s done the process outside of Canada and can maybe help (help probably the incorrect word, but give some info on the process and how it worked), as I’ve got to list addresses etc and so I’d put my Canada address as the main one and then UK address as mailing one.
I believe fees are $260, have to get 2 photos (signed etc), the also send in a copy of UK passport (signed again by guarantor), 1 guarantor who can be British and of a certain profession from the list, 2 references who again can be British.
Sorry I’ve read the link and relevant page probably 20 times lol but with it being the first passport I just want to make sure it’s correct.
Aside from that I’ve got to get receive my certificate lol!

2 questions; if someone apply outside Canada

1) it's correct to say that the 2 references are waived and we need only a Guarantor?
2) The guarantor should know me also for at least 2 years or I can ask any doctor to help?

Thanks

1) Incorrect.....2 references and 1 Guarantor is required (References don't need to be Canadian neither does the guarantor
2) I believe that a Doctor is on the list of Guarantors that you can select from
