Agreed. You do NOT have to send in passports issued by other countries. If you have a travel document from Canada ie special Canadian certificate/ passport then you will have to send them in for cancellation. This has been stated by the IRCC and also a quick call to an agent.

I didn't renew my passport. I applied for a new one because I became officially Canadian Citizen recently. One of the required documents you need to include in your passport application is a travel document. Obviously, my travel document is my previous passport. I don't get it why it's too hard to comprehend, no offence.

If you said that your travel document is your 'other' (not previous) passport, we would have understood.
'Previous' implies that you had a Canadian passport before, same as when you said your 'old' passport was returned in your original post. Had you said that your 'other' passport was returned, we would have understood that you meant a non-canadian passport.
Plus, he kept asking because it is rare to see anyone send in their other passport when applying for a Canadian passport.

How many days after CC charge should we call to request the tracking number for the passport and the certificates? My CC was charged on 11-Feb.

My CC was charged on Feb 4. I called them on Feb 15, my passport was still not ready. So I guess it depends, some people, who applied after me, already got their passports, some are waiting longer than me.

Again, if you don't have a Canadian travel document, like a Canadian passport, you don't have to include any other passport you have. It's not hard to comprehend, but you are saying you are applying for a Canadian passport for the first time, which means you don't have a Canadian passport, yet you said you included your previous passport, which must be from another country. This was not necessary and potentially risky. I was just trying to understand. That's why I asked. Anyway, glad you got your passport finally. Congratulations.

It’s been a while for you.. Hopefully you will get it soon. When I called them this week, they said they would most likely finalise and send it back to me next week. It will take a few business days to get delivered, so I guess I should wait 2 more weeks or so.

Good question. Maybe they are examining the molecule of the citizenship certificate under a powerful microscope? We immigrants undergo many stages of scrutiny because well .. fill in the blank

Yes yesterday they told me that’s it’s gone for printing and then dispatch soon so expecting any time next week by around Tuesday/ Wednesday

Anybody fax documents to passport office? I called them today to check status of my kid passport. They require some additional docs to be sent through fax. I am trying since morning but couldn't get the fax through. Any suggestion?

I faxed them recently.. used Fax Online with eFax ,,they have trail period for 14 days.. use it.. good luck

Hi Guys, Question.

I send passport documents via canada post. Online tracker saying that its delivery pending but today i contacted them and query, they said it was delivered a day ago but as we deliver in bundle (with other applications), its not necessary that canada post tracker update accordingly. Status may never update but 100% sure that document was delivered.

Anyone else has the same experience? or should i give passport office a call for the updates? suggestions?
