November 2021 - Citizenship applications

That is because December applications are getting AOR now, November seems to be done.

I submitted on Nov 25th 2021 and haven't received any update yet. Not sure what should I do next.

My wife and I submitted our application on Nov 25th 2021. But we have yet received the AOR or any other update yet. Not sure if this is normal. Anybody here who's in the same boat or knows what could possibly be the reason? Thanks.

Hello, we submitted the same day but mine was online. AOR Received February 9, 2022 then In Progress on the 10th. Hope this helps.

Got a fingerprint email but the tracker doesn’t show that it was requested ? Is this common ?

Application Sent/Received: 16 Dec 2021
AOR: Feb 18 2022

I am looking to know what would be time line for next step?

(1) Do they ask finger print for everyone? We never had submitted before during PR
(2) What is usual time frame for Finger print request after AOR


We are not in Canada between 1st March to 1st April.

I have just received a email saying Your application was created in our system on February 8, 2022 and is currently in progress.
But have not received any AOR as of now to track it.

Anyone had similar issues in the group?

I just saw a new line appear on ECAS

1. We received your application for Canadian citizenship (grant of citizenship) on November 16, 2021.
2. We sent you correspondence acknowledging receipt of your application(s), and a study book called Discover Canada on January 24, 2022.
3. We started processing your application on February 16, 2022.

Does somebody know what that means ?

We are not in Canada between 1st March to 1st April.

1) No rules on who will get FP request (Atleast I dont know). Not everyone gets it. Doesn't matter if you submitted or not at the time of PR.
2) I got my AOR on 24 Jan and received FP on 10 Feb. As you know with IRCC anything can happen at anytime.

In general this email comes after AOR. So its a good news for you one way. Check your application for any errors on email address provided. And check your emails (Including spam etc). If all good then call IRCC to know the application number which can be used to create account for tracker. Also, enquire abt why you haven't received AOR email (May be they had a typo on their end)

This means ghost update in new tracker. Some officer opened your file. In most of the cases either you get back ground cleared or FP request in a day or two. I wish its BG clear for you.
