Hi all,

Working on outland spousal sponsorship and have a few questions about IMM 5532:

1) Part B #2 asks "Do you have any relatives (including aunts, uncles, cousins, etc.) living in Canada? If yes, give their full name(s), address(es) and relationship to you."

My spouse has several family members living in Canada but not sure on the Relationship field. She has (all from the same family tree):
- 1 Aunt
- 2 Cousins
- 1 Cousin & her Husband
- 2 Children from the above Cousin

Question is how granular do you get with the Relationship? E.g. right now I'm thinking the Cousins I would list as "First Cousin", the Husband as "First Cousin In-Law", and the children as "First Cousin Once Removed". Or do you just keep it more simple E.g. "Cousin" and "In-Law"?

Also, the Current Address field is ridiculously short (seems to be an unnecessary frustration on many of these forms), and they all have the same address. So can I just use the first row of the table to say something like "See attached explanation" and move ALL relatives to a separate page? Or do I need to populate all 4 rows first and then the rest go on a separate page?

2) Part C #7 asks "Do your close friends, family and children know about your relationship? If yes, give details."

How granular does this need to be? We had 50+ people at our wedding (her country) plus everyone that we couldn't accommodate and my own family, and she has many people she would consider close. Where does the line get drawn?

Also, similar to above, can I just use the first row of the table to say something like "See attached explanation" and move ALL details to a separate page? Or do I need to populate all 5 rows first and then the rest go on a separate page?

3) Related to the above, if you have to provide a separate sheet, does it need to be signed or anything? We're applying online so thinking I would like append the document to the PDF form itself once signed and scanned back, that way the details stay together. Or does it need to stay a separate document and be uploaded separately in the Supporting Docs under Letter of Explanation?

Thanks!

2. if I recall correctly we put down meeting my parents, his parents (as two separate entries since they're divorced and it was at separate times), my siblings (he's an only child), and his aunt and uncle as our five table entries to show meeting both sides of the family. I'd populate the table with all five rows then add more details separately or if there's room for additional details there do it there. Beyond the five entries, I'd personally say something like "our family members and friends know about our relationship. (List some key milestones/meetings here like meeting parents, other relatives and friends etc.) Our wedding was attended by approximately X relatives from her side and Y relatives from my side including (parents, siblings, aunts uncles etc - a general list of whoever was there) and Z friends of ours. We also invited X other people who weren't able to make the wedding." I don't think you need to list out in great detail which relatives/friends were there at the wedding given that you had a good number of people there and when you fill out the part about ceremonies and number of attendees it should be pretty obvious it was a publicly acknowledged wedding.
