SIN Without Canadian Address?

Hi, can I give my friends address for the SIN?
As per the online application link, in the box with ‘in care of’ by giving friends name.

I tried to use my father-in-law in ‘in care of’ + provided his document from bank as proof of address.
Result: my application was declined with the reason: "The proof of address did not include your full name".

P,S. Today I applied in person without proof of address and got my SIN immediately.

Call them and schedule an in person appointment , thats what I did . In the call tell them you dont have a permanent address yet . They will ensure you get an in person appointment .
Once you go to the service canada center again explain them about your appointment as you dont have a permanent address. They wil issue SIN right then and there

Address proof is needed only when online request is submitted. For in-person appointment or walk-in, you don't have to provide any address proof, and SIN is issued instantly.

Can I give my friend's address? Then what should I upload as a proof?
What about my US address? Would that work?

US address won't work, you would need a local address
