Hi all,

If I applied for a study permit alone, can I sponsor my wife and kid to come visit me and stay with me in Canada or not? is there any way to do it or because I didn't include them in my application from the beginning then I won't be able to sponsor them later?

There is no guarantee they will be grated a permit/visa but yes if your daughter gets a TRV she can study at primary school. Currently VOs prefer that children over 4 apply for a study permit and spouses apply for an OWP even if they don’t plan on working. There are better chances on families getting visas/permits the more advanced degree you are pursuing. For example most PhDs and masters students are able to sponsor their families. What degree are you applying for? I see you are a dentist from a Iraq. How old are you? Is your spouse working full-time? Have you applied for any other immigration programs in Canada or elsewhere?

Thank you for replying, I'm applying for a 2 years graduate certificate, my daughters is 5 years old and my wife has full time job, no we didn't apply for any immigration program in Canada or any other country and both my wife and I have a history of multiple travel to the US without breaking any law.

What type of graduate certificate because if you are working as a dentist there aren’t many programs that lead to career progression and make sense based on work and education history. Would add there is a surplus of dentists in Canada.

Thank you, actually I applied for a study permit not a work permit, I applied on Oct 18th, medical request on NOV 29th, Medical done on Dec 1st and passed on 7th, BVL received on Dec 15th, PPR came today
