They want to verfy your documents. Asking about your travels and job. Mostly test your english. U have to be in canada for the online interview unless you emaik them and ask them if they are ok if you are outside of the country. Its a better impression for them knowing you are in canada.
what is your timeline ?

I also sent them my passport copies but no news after that.
did your interview came on your timeline tracker? Or is it just an email?

The interview also is showing on tracker a day after the request.Did you send the passport copies before the interview?When did you have the interview?Do you know how long is from the interview to the oath?Do you mean they need to know about travels in the eligibility period or after you apply

I have not yet been asked for the interview. They only asked me to send them my passport copies. Interview basically will be random. Whoever had interview informed me about it and i have an idea of whats happenin with it. They will basically go through your stamps on your passport. Not a big deal. Just be prepared with some of your orginal docs which you submited along with your application. So i guess 2 or 3 months you will get your oath date once you are clear from everything. Im on a same boat as you are but mine was filed up in late september 2019

I see,yours even took longer...I got two separate emails on the same day one asking for pp copies another for an interview.

I have been just asked for pp copies. Hopefully this would be my last step before taking oath.

Hi all, I got interview request 4 months after my test.Do you know how is it and why may be requested even though they asked for passport copies separately?I am also wondering if I can have the online interview while I am outside the country,I didn't see anywhere mentioning about if we are outside the country for the interview unlike for the test or oath.

I haven't got email yet but got interview request this morning on March 8th in my tracker. BTW, what's the interview about? (I took test outside Canada). Can I take it while outside? I'm still outside Canada. See my signature.

As far as I know, interview needs to be done inside(as per the email acknowledgement and instructions/disclosure clauses in the invitation email).
So lets see if they have changed it. So wait till you get the email invitation and then take a call if you need to travel/postpone.

They've changed it a while ago. The only reason why I got an interview request is I took test outside and I'm still outside (it stated the reason in my ATIP notes)...

Interview went really well… It was 20 minutes long- and half of it was just small talk about pandemic and it’s impacts… the other half was just travel history questions and verifying travel documents! Hope that helps!

I got an interview letter for Citizenship. But the invitation link I got doesn’t work. The one says Click here to join meeting. I mean I am not able to click it. Even the instructions link that I got in Consent form doesn’t work. Did you also experience something similar?
Please let me know if you know anything about this. Sent a reply to Cic. But no response yet. Had my interview next week. Really worried. Already it took more than 2 years to get at this point.

So are they now allowing to attend interview outside? if so then thats good. Lets know after you receive your email to confirm if they removed the clause asking you to be inside.

I took both my test and interview outside Canada;I asked them on both occasions and they told me they allow doing it outside the country.
