It has been over one year since applying for restoration of study permit under covid extension. On dec.1/2021, the recording finally changed to "reviewing whether you meet the eligibility requirements."

Please share your timeline if you have same experience. or any comment is welcome
Also applied in sept 2021 for GMS notes..paid $5.00, and received nothing.

This isn't normal. There must be something unusual about your case.

When did you stop attending school and when did your study permit expire? When did you apply to restore your status? Did you work at all after you stopped attending school?

1. If you stopped attending school in Jan 2019, your study permit was most likely canceled by IRCC sometime in 2019. Schools are required to report students' status to IRCC. If a student drops out of school, IRCC cancels the study permit.
2. See above. Your study permit was most likely canceled in 2019 and was no longer valid in 2020.
3. If your study permit was canceled in 2019, then you don't qualify under the public policy.
4. You do not have implied status. Applying for restoration does not give you implied status. You are out of status in Canada and have been for a long time. Once you stopped attending school in January 2019, it was no longer legal for you to continue working.

I think you should be prepared to receive a refusal and an order to leave Canada. You may also end up with an exclusion order / ban due to the illegal work.

You have been out of status for 3 years and working illegally too. The correct thing to do would have been to leave Canada after you stopped attending and apply for a new program from your home country

Then it's almost guaranteed you've been out of status since 2019 and everything I said in my post above applies.

Even if you do qualify under the policy, you've been working illegally since you dropped out of school and you do not have implied status.

Expect a refusal.

Get a lawyer, this forum is horrendous for nuanced cases.
