How long can I stay outside Canada on PGWP?

I have a doubt. My work is remote and I need to be away from Canada for at least a year or maybe more. So are there any restrictions on how long I can stay away with PGWP while still earning and filing taxes in Canada?

No restrictions. But be aware that any work you do outside of Canada will be classified as foreign work experience (not Canadian work experience which you can count towards CEC).

So even if I work from home and the salary is credited to my SIN and Canadian bank account, it won't be considered?

Correct. You will be outside of Canada so it will be classified as foreign work experience.

Did you went ahead with your travel plans? I am on work permit and my work is also remote and I am planning to go to India for approximately 7-8 months. Did you face any issues while coming back?
It would be helpful if you could share your experience.

So you are OK to "lost" 7 - 8 month of Canadian experience?

If you have a valid TRV (or eTA) to come back to Canada, you should be OK as long as your PGWP is still valid.

Yeah I am ok with that because I can cover that experience later also. I just got my work permit so I have 3 years of validity and my job is NOC A

I just wanted to know if there is a limit of staying outside Canada or not.
Also, I am not 100% sure that I will stay that long but just wanted to be aware of all the options and their consequences.
