Rules were changed recently in Sep 2021. You don't need a new OCI anymore. You just need to update your son's particulars (passport, photo and thumb print) on OCI website. No fee has to be paid. You'll receive an acknowledgement immediately and within 2-3 weeks confirmation of documents' acceptance. I did it for my son recently, very straight forward process. Cheers

I did for my daughter too same, no need to get new OCI anymore, just update the new photo, signature and passport copy

I am applying for my fresh OCI booklet.

1. Do I need to submit and send any original documents?
2. Do I need to send COPR and marriage certificate as well as upload it in OCI online application?
3. Apart from the photo and signature, what other documents do I need to upload in the online application?

1 - No, I did it yesterday and only originals were verified
2 - It is best to attach the COPR and Marriage Certificate. Some agents look for COPR, some don't.
3. 4 docs - 1) CURRENT PASSPORT OF CHILD 2) CURRENT INDIAN PASSPORT OF PARENTS/GRAND PARENTS/GREAT GRAND PARENTS/SPOUSE

My COPR original is lost. I only have an email verification / pdf letter from CIC ..verifying my status.
Will that work?

May work. Use verification letter alongwith PR card. They say COPR is very important generally in Canada since that is your landing paper

Happy new year everyone. I have my OCI status updated on oci website as received by CGI on Jan 1st but on BLS it still shows processing at CGI. any idea how long will it take BLS to send it back.

I am assuming draft is required only for OCI fees and all others(passport surrender/visa) can be paid via cash/card..
What's the exact amount for OCI fees for which draft needs to be taken per application ? $341 or $345 ?

Can anyone share their timeline for oci application? I submitted Dec 31st and still no records found on oci status enquiry. I would like to know when will I receive the surrender certificate back? My wondering if I receive everything by end of feb.

I applied via postal application from Atlantic Canada to Brampton BLs- selected Toronto consulate. No originals were asked. Did you apply via postal applicaiton?

$345 for the consulate and $7.50 for BLS International Service Inc. (Toronto Postal application for OCI) + Purolator courier fees if applicable
