At this rate, I am looking for other options. I am not saying I am giving up on Canada completely. But I will have only myself to blame if by the end of 2022, I haven't looked for alternatives and Canada's immigration process is still at a standstill (or at best slow). I don't blame Canada for the backlog but they could be a bit more transparent about the timeline. I didn't spend years and years in graduate school to wait around only to become unemployable because I am waiting for IRCC to resume moving at regular speed (or have a FSW draw). Again, I don't blame Canada, I think it is a wonderful country and express entry is an innovative immigration pathway, but given how things are unfolding it is not practical for Canada to be my first or only immigration option. At this rate, it might be take less time to get citizenship in the US than to get PR in Canada.

Just the disappointed ramblings of a disappointed EE applicant.
Are you waiting for an ITA or you have already applied?

damn gimmie dat crystal ball that you have!!:) and what was your FSW prediction?
I was semi-right about FSW. It was last summer when I predicted CEC would be ded around Sept, but I also incorrectly expected FSW would be back shortly after. So I'm not guessing anything about FSW again since I was horribly wrong. What I'm seeing is Canada dropped outland immigration in practice while it still theoretically exists. For those who were already planning on getting a Canadian degree will be the biggest winners since they now don't have to wait for 1 year Canadian exp.

BUT ALSO

Remember those 12 month useless ass MEng degrees that nobody wanted to pay for since PGWP wouldn't be long enough for CEC? Or even the 8 month silly programs whose degrees are as useful as toilet paper? THOSE NOW LEAD YOU STRAIGHT TO PR BECAUSE NO NEED FOR 1 YEAR CANADIAN EXP ANYMORE.

Fellas with enough money might consider. It's actually good news.

New Canadian PR formula (call it Kangaroo v2.0) for disgusting outlanders with minimal resources:

1. Find the most useless 8 month long grad program (or whatever) you can find.
2. Obviously self-fund your useless "studies" there. Graduate in 8 months.
3. Apply for PGWP. You'll be given 8 months on that PGWP.
4. Find a job in Canada on PGWP. Try not to tell your employer about the duration of your PGWP but if you must, then also explain that it doesn't matter and you'll go straight for EE and be on BOWP until you're PR anyway.
5. As soon as you found a job on PGWP, apply for PR under the new EE stream.
6. It'll probably be super fast processing and you'll be a PR in 3-6 months.

Guys... This actually beats FSW for those willing to spend a bit more.

Kangaroo what does your crystal ball predict for 2022?
I am very eager to hear that.
Outland apps of all sorts (FSW PNP doesn't matter) are fucked. Because not only had Canada not have any incentives to move back resources to outland app processing before any of this, but now with these new developments Canada has access to a pool of 500,000+ inland candidates (students and temporaries). So Canada most likely won't return any of those resources back to outland app processing. Outland draws will be back but small because of the limited resources. So what does that all mean?

1. It will still be possible (in theory) to get Canadian PR as a full outlander.
2. Outland CRS cutoffs will explode due to reduced ITAs. To do the above, outland candidates will have to learn French.
3. Typical avg proc time for outlands will be 1.5 - 2 years post-pandemic due to limited resource allocation for their apps.
4. Those rich enough will have the ability to mandamus their way out of this. (If mandamus is not cheaper than 8 month PGWP then it won't be worth it)

PNP might get a slightly different treatment since it's bullshit if IRCC admits the provinces' nominees only after 2 years. But you never know.

What about backlogs, you are saying it will take again 1.5 years to process or mandamus is the only way?

wait is it useless because there is no demand for mech engs with masters degree or useless because Canadian mech eng grad degree is useless?
Canadian degrees are useful in Canada and useless everywhere else. Except maybe North Korea.

Yeah
