We got the biometrics request today. We submitted our application online on September 25th but haven’t received AOR yet. It seems like that happens more frequently with the online application.

Hello Everyone,

My husband's spousal application was submitted online on September 10th, 2021. On December 13th we got a communication from Centralized-Intake-Office that our application is returned electronically because of missing document. Needless to mention, our representative messed up the documentation. On 14th December our case specialist made corrections and re-submitted the application. I am just concerned that does it mean we are back to zero right now in terms of waiting and processing time for the application? Or will IRCC consider us as September 2021 applicant.
Your suggestions will help us a lot.

Thank-you.

Online Application: Submitted Sept 15 | BIL Dec 22 | AOR Dec 23 | SA Dec 23

Hi all, I have a question more about applying for a Study Permit from within Canada.

My spouse has a Visitor Visa and plans to join me in Feb 2022. She also applied for graduate programs to start in Sept 2022. If the PR did not come soon enough, she would need to apply for a Study Permit in April or May 2022 (from within Canada).

However, it seems like "Foreign nationals who are in-Canada visitors are not eligible to apply for a study permit from within Canada unless they are exempt under section R215. They must submit their application package online or to a VAC. If their application is approved, they must obtain their study permit at a POE."
[Source: https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/corporate/publications-manuals/operational-bulletins-manuals/temporary-residents/study-permits/making-application.html]

Does that mean she could apply for a Study Permit ONLINE but needs to EXIT Canada in order to present herself at a POE to get her study permit? Obviously, this would be a huge issue given the covid situation and all the border restrictions and quarantine requirements.

Any advice? Given that she is the spouse of a Permanent Resident, is there any workaround?

Thanks in advance!
To answer my own question, people being sponsored to immigrate or have applied for PR appear to be eligible to apply for a Study Permit from inside Canada.

Source: https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/study-canada/study-permit/apply.html

Fill out the questionnaire on the page by selecting "Inside Canada" for the question "Where are you applying from?", then the eligibility requirements would appear.

Sorry to say but if you need to re-submit a rejected app the processing date starts all over again. There is no way around it. You are now considered a December applicant.

I guess you should receive something soon, otherwise I recommend following up with your area's MP. Check the googledocs document as well where everyone has their information on, so you know by when to expect. The googledocs file link is on 4th or 5th page of this thread on someone's message, pls check.

Hope that helps.

Kind regards,
Taha
