Oh damn that is insane. Makes no economic sense to me. The numbers do not make sense. I don't know how is this sustainable.

Makes no sense that's true, but people for some reason are eager to pay 1million dollar or slightly more for an average house near Toronto just to continue working for the rest of their lives.

I don't think many of them know that with a million dollar you can live as a self proclaimed "Lord" in some countries with 25-30 serfs working hard to pay you "rent" each month until the end of your glorious days on earth. Jokes aside, If I had a million dollar, I'd have gone to an affordable, safe, but 3rd world country to buy 25-30 appartments and never work again.

Affordable is the polite form of calling a country 'cheap' in my book. Cheap countries are 3rd world countries (weak currencies, low minimum wages etc), I don't know if there are any exceptions to this. Though hard thing is not all of the 3rd world countries are safe.

Anyway, all I'm saying is you can entirely change your life with a million dollar cash, and spending it on a house near Toronto is probably one of the worst financial decisions someone can make with that kind of money.

The more I talk to my friends who lived in Canada throughout the pandemic, the more I understand how JT actually did us a huge favor by locking us out. My friends say they had very little to almost no social life in two years, made very few friends or none at all, saw nowhere new since everywhere was closed, and some even had hard time doing their hobbies because places like gyms were also closed. Especially so for my single friends, they were completely fucked.

Absentee bias. High skilled CECs don't need to be on this forum cos they're earning good money and don't have to worry about scores or draws. They only come here if they have a problem
