Express entry - PR in processing...can I apply for a visitor visa?

Hello all,

My name is Sreekar and I applied for Permanent residence on June 20th 2020 under CEC class. My application says it is 'still in processing' even today.

I am done with Biometrics and passed my Medicals too. Almost 90% of the processing is completed.

I am currently in India right now. As I am not physically present in Canada, they kept aside my application.

My question here is that can I apply for a visitor visa right now so that I can be able to travel back to Canada.

Also my brother is a Canadian citizen who is in Canada right now. Can he be of my help by any chance..!!!

I desperately want to go back to Canada and reunite with my family as my entire family lives there.

Please suggest me after reading and understanding my current situation.

What’s the harm in applying ?

I mean to ask what are the chances of getting a visitor visa approved/rejected when already my PR application is in processing from quite a long time now.?

Hey @subbu_9 I'm in the same situation as u and I got my visitor visa approved recently, I applied in March last year and got my passport back stamped last week.
