Re-enter Canada on CoPR

Hello!

I have a question to anyone who KNOWS more about this issue.

I applied for Permanent Residency and I received my CoPR about a month ago. I had to travel back to my home country for some personal affairs, and now I have been told by an immigration agent that my return is only possible by land (i.e. through the states) as I don't have the physical PR card (Only the confirmation of PR and my native passport obv). The PR card should be sitting in my mailbox in Canada at this point.

However, I have seen on two separate government sites that my return should go without complications. I will add the links below:

https://www.cic.gc.ca/english/helpcentre/answer.asp?qnum=1184&top=16

https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/coronavirus-covid19/immigration-applicants.html

As you can imagine I am a bit torn to whether I should come back through the U.S or just directly fly into Canada directly.

Let me know if you know anything about this!

Thanks!

Official link is self explanatory, I think you should be fine with your COPR. Incase of any doubt, call Canadian Embassy for Clarification

The first link only applies to situations where an individual received the COPR while outside of Canada and is coming to Canada for the first time to land and become a PR. If you received your COPR while inside of Canada and already completed landing formalities while in Canada, and then you left - the COPR cannot be used to travel.

Your options are as follows:
1) Obtain a PR Travel Document from outside of Canada and travel directly to Canada with that once approved.
2) Have someone mail your PR card to you outside of Canada and travel directly to Canada once you have that.
3) Fly to the US and re-enter Canada through a land border using your COPR.
