Hello everyone. Quick question please. My mom's application was received on September 11th, 2019. In theory, they are processing her application as we speak. In practice, nothing! She is 75 years old, so there is no need for a language/knowledge test. We submitted passport copies supporting her trips out of Canada with the application, so they should have everything in their hands. Online tracker shows just Background check as complete. Any idea what would be the next step for her? Any interview or directly the oath? She is absolutely restless, so unfair this entire process! Any info, much appreciated! Thanks!

As you imagined correctly, this entire process is quite tricky right now. There is n set time period right now. Just to give you a data point, my wife's background was verified on June 29, 2021. She is scheduled for her oath on Jan 18, 2022. In between she did her test in July, but that's not relevant for you. My wife didn't have any interview but some people have had. I am not sure what's IRCC's criterion for interview. Sorry, I wish I could help more.

Hello Folks,

Today the new Online Status Tracker is showing:

- Prohibition / Language / Physical have been updated into "completed"

- so the only one outstanding activity is: "citizenship cerenomy not started" as well as the overall application status is still: "in progress"

Any idea/speculation what is following next.....is it now waiting for DM before receiving an Oath Invite?

Edit: Actually I just see in the old tracker ' ECAS ' the entry: DECISION MADE.

So what is next ?
Citizenship Application Status changed for “Ceremony into Progress” and Oath Date is given with 01st February 2022.

I am stuck with Decision Made since June 2021. Application received in September 2019. My oldest check background expires early Feb 2022 so hoping for oath invite soon. The online tracker shows they are finalizing applications received mid September 2019 so does that include processing till oath or just decision made?
Also I applied with a family member who got decision made a couple of days ago.
Thanks

My file is with the Vancouver office. I attended my oath ceremony on Tuesday, Nov 30 and e-mailed the signed form within minutes on the same day. The subject line in my e-mail has the necessary info (file # & my last name) as suggested in the invitation letter and I also received their acknowledgement email. But it has been 2 weeks and my status in new tracker still shows 'in progress' for Citizenship Ceremony. The invitation letter states that I should only email them if I do not receive my certificate in 6 weeks after sending the signed form. Should I be concerned that my status in new tracker has not changed? Is this delay to be expected too just to receive a certificate?
Update: Thursday, Dec 16, received email from IRCC local office (they had sent me the Citizenships ceremony invite) stating they have not received my signed Oath form. I resubmitted the form and status updated in new tracker the same day to ‘Closed’. Certificate received in post on Monday, Dec 20. Receiving their follow-up email gave me hope that they did not just keep the file aside once the ceremony was done.

Folks, I picked up my passport last Thursday; my saga is finally over. I'm wishing you all the best and hope that you all are right behind me!

Total time for the process, for anyone interested: 2 years, 3 months, 12 days

Best of luck; Merry Christmas to those that observe it.

Congrats! You made it!
I mailed my passport application 2 weeks ago from the US (delivered 12.09). Still no news...
I guess they're unhappy that I provided the US address as my home address but gave my Quebec DL as my ID. Maybe they already started the citizenship revocation procedure... :)

Marry Christmas!
