January 2020 - citizenship application

unless you have intent to travel outside Canada. my application status changed to DM in July. PR expired in April2021. I applied for renewal of PR card. its been 3 months now with no update. I hope I get the citizenship by end of 2022. my passport expires in Dec 2022. I don't want to get it renewed. All i am praying is that Mississauga office wakes up from their deep sleep and process the pending files of 2020. If I am given a chance, i want to train them on what FIFO really means. people from 2018,2019,2020 are waiting and you see ppl from 2021 getting their applications processed.

I've already applied to renew my passport in case I need to travel outside of Canada next year...
Does DM mean that everything is completed except oath? My application status is still shown as In Progress tho

It's really frustrating, seeing how things are being done...

IRCC will give you all the valid reasons of not using FIFO i.e. Covid, Afghan crisis, complex application etc.

I doubt they would understand FIFO even if you extensively trained them

they will send u email. Keep checking ur junk folder as well. But yes, if u check ur application status daily or twice a week, you will know couple days before the email arrives. The status is updated few days before for sure. Thx

congrats. do you know if the attendees were from the same processing office as yours or all mixed up? just trying to understand if oath ceremonies are scheduled centrally or by individual offices

Hi. 99 other people were taking the oath along with myself. They were from multiple offices because the clerk indicated so to me. I was processed through the Scarborough office.
My ceremony commenced at 1:30PM EST so if others are on here perhaps they can comment.

Hello all,

I completed my oath ceremony yesterday (Dec 29). I even signed the oath affirmation form after the ceremony.

But today, i received another oath ceremony invitation scheduled for January.


Has this happened to anybody else ??
