Do Handwritten Signatures Need To Include Middle Name or Just Match Your Passport?

Hi,

I'm about to send off my application but I'm wondering if my handwritten signatures need to be my full name to be considered legal by Canada. For example, handwritten in the format of first/middle/last name matching what is in the forms.

I assume it's just whatever matches my passport signature and middle name doesn't need to be included if that's not how you normally sign things but I'd really like some clarity from someone who knows because I cant afford a delay in processing especially for something like this. I looked all over and couldn't find a single thread so I must ask to gain peace of mind.

For signatures we signed regular scribbly signatures. Not full name or anything that follows a soecific format (safer to be the same signature as your passport)

Where it asked for the name to be typed next to the signature, we did first name last name, which is what we did everywhere unless it explicity asked for full name. Our application was not returned.

Great to hear that, thank you. Especially the 2nd part about printing your name because I have an explanation letter I'm about to sign and at the bottom I wrote my full name out but my signature is just first/last on everything. Now that you mention names being explicitly asked for or not, in that case there is no requirement so I'll omit the middle name in the bottom typed portion and sign accordingly.

I'm doing online spousal and I don't believe I'm asked to type my name and then add my signature for any forms. I need to print and sign imm1344, imm5532 and imm5476 as I'll represent my spouse. My spouse has just informed me that a friend of hers that recently finished the process texted her back saying they chose to sign like the passport but you beat her to the answer Dimt44! Just want to give you an extra thanks because I've used this site for a while now without signing up and I've seen quality posts from you so cheers!
