I am a mechanical engineer, in one of my jobs, I worked as a draftsman engineer for a casting company, my job duties were :

• Completed modelling (Using SolidWorks) of components as first step of sand-casting process, most of the components were
manufactured for sugar cane companies and all quality specifications had to be assured.
• Originated innovative sprue designs and molds, were made in such way for castings defects would be none or minimum, for doing so it was necessary to break down and discuss any possible options using presentations and drawings (SolidWroks) along with the casting manager to thus choose the most convenient design.

• Carried out simulations of casting process and then analyse results to assure quality of upcoming process and thus reduce any possibility of failure in casting process.

My position was a mechnical engineer one ( NOC 2132) but while checking other NOC codes I saw that Industrial and Manufacturing engineers ( NOC 2141), Metallurgical and materials engineers (NOC 2141) or even Drafting Technologists and technicians (NOC 2253) could apply as well.

I am hesitant on which NOC code to use, as I mentioned I am a mechanical engineer and the duties described in the NOC 2132 apply for my job, but also others, and I wouldnt like my express entry application to be refused because I didnt choose the correct NOC NOde.

ANY ADVISE ?

You match your responsibilities, not title, to the NOC. Only you can figure that out.
