Anyone knows when I can apply for the child tax benefits and how soon can I get the first payment once I land in Canada?

If a child is staying with you, you can apply it right away.

for processing, it may take 3-4 months but you get the benefits from the next month of date of your permanent moving into canada .

One should know the difference between rights and misuse.

Yes the father can apply if your child remains living with him in Canada.
