Congrats! Can I check how did you withdraw the first one? How long did it take to get the fee refunded? Thanks
I requested withdrawal via the online web form. But the application has officially not yet been withdrawn by IRCC, hence no refund issued yet. This is the reply I received from IRCC when I raised the withdrawal request:

"Thank you for contacting Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC).

A note has been added on file to notify the responsible office that you wish to withdraw your application. Once the processing of your application begins, the office will determine if the application can be withdrawn and will issue a refund within 16 weeks of the withdrawal, if applicable.

Please note that the decision to withdraw an application is definitive, and that a new application will require the applicable fees.

We hope the information provided is helpful in assisting you with your enquiry."

You ll get an update on your account, the application status will change from refused to submitted OR you can check officer notes from the latest GCMS notes.
What happened to your file? Is this for PR application?

My mom is from India. Applied for visitor visa from India. First application applied on 16 June 2021. Raised web forms and they always replied that process is delayed because of ongoing situation in Afghanistan (this is only reply she got whenever she raised a webform). Still no update at GCKey.

Applied for second time through IRCC portal on 6 November 2021 and still no response.

I don’t know what to do now. I have no hope now. Should I withdraw the first application?
