Hello,

We are due to land in Canada in January. I have a valid health care card but my daughter and partner have to wait 3 months before they count as Yukon residents. Does anyone have recommendations for short term insurance to cover doctor's appointments, blood tests etc. in the period while they're waiting?

Have you been in the Yukon through tHe past year? Having a valid card doesn’t mean you qualify for healthcare. You must also meet the RO to retain your coverage. Most take out emergency medical travel insurance and pay out of pocket for routine medical treatment. To get coverage for routine care you will pay a significant amount. Most policies don’t cover pregnancy if you are already pregnant.
