Conjugal sponsorship

Hi everyone,
My partner and I are from Iran. We have submitted our conjugal sponsorship case in Jan 2021 and Nov 24th we received an email from immigration officer for more info.
1. The officer is concerned that I (as the sponser) have not mentioned anything in my oen immigration appljcation (Express Entry) that I am in a relationship. I did not because I did my application with a lawyer and I was afraid to say something since same-sex relationship is illegal in Iran.
I talked to someone who is a lawyer in Canada to see what we can do, he said my PR can be in japoardy because it is like that I have lied to the government in Canada. He said when you land they ask you if you are single or not. And I have said Im single while now i am saying I am in a relationship with someone since 2009!
Can anybody help?

Did you and your partner live together for at least one full year continuously before you became a PR?

No we did not. We were in relationship in Iran. But we never lived together bcoz of the barriers. I came to Canada in 2018 and we submitted our case in 2020 Nov.

In your Express Entry application, you were only required to list a spouse or common law partner. Conjugal partners cannot be included as dependents in your PR application. I would include this in your response to the officer and indicate that since you were not married and had never lived together, you couldn't include your partner in the EE application.

Good point!
I am not sure about when he said when you land in Canada u were asked 3 or 4 questions and one is if u have a partner. I dont remember much unfortunately, but it should be a spouse or common law partner. I dont think they ever ask if u r in a conjugal relationship!
