Should I withdraw my paper app and reapply online?

Hello,

I applied for my Citizenship in June 2020. The last update was BG check which changed to completed on Feb 11, 2021. The status shows last updated: April 23, 2021.
Upon requesting MP I got to know my application is in Scarborough office (upon reading through this forum, I learnt that this is one of the worst offices for your app to be in). I am single applicant.

I need a suggestion if it's wise to withdraw the paper application and reapply online?

File sent - May 28 2020
Application Received - June 8 2020
AOR - Oct 13 2020
App started processing on - Dec 17 2020
BG Completed - Feb 11 2021

Thanks everyone!

I think you're too far/far enough into the application to withdraw at this point and see the advantage of it. You've done a lot of the waiting. If you withdraw at this point and re apply, you'll end up waiting longer overall than if you just continue with this application.
I'm a June 2020 applicant too, I only just got my test invite last week. Keep an eye out, you should get your test soon.
If there's a specific reason delaying your application, nothing says that same reason won't delay the online application later on too.

Hey Shazahsan, thanks for the response! If that's the case then waiting is more reasonable I guess! Where is your file currently (which office)?

I do not think that there is any particular reason from my side that is hindering the pace of the application process.

I applied in June 2020 too, and my background check was completed Feb 2021 as well. I did my test in July 2021, but not a single update after that.

This is a group to share timelines, ask questions, etc. Anyone from AB, SK, or anywhere else is welcome. Please join if you like the idea and feel free to share it with other applicants you may know. Thank you.

Considering the online application is also not guaranteed in terms of timeline, (there are applicants choosing to send by paper still as they think the online ones are causing more delays) it would be too risky for you to withdraw and apply online. You already have passed the initial stages so it would be a shame to have to redo all of that and end up waiting even more. I think you would have a better chance if you keep following up on your application by sending a webform every few weeks or calling them.

If the only reason is to expedite the processing of your application, and you think this can be achieved by submitting an online application after withdrawing the old one, then the answer is NO.
