VISA ISSUED...

LANDED..........
Landed as a PR 13 December 2017 (In Canada since 2015)
Application sent end of August 2020.
Received on September 2nd, 2020.
Background completed (without fingerprint request) at the beginning of September 2021.
It is a family application (2 adults, 2 minor kids).
Still waiting for the fricking test invite.
Yesterday we called IRCC. Because our case is not one of the priorities listed on the phone, we were not able to talk to an agent.
I am sick and tired of this non-responsive, non-transparent processing system of IRCC. This is simply not acceptable. I am mad, frustrated, disappointed.

To enter Canada as a citizen, you'll need a Canadian passport. In the absence of a Canadian passport, if you are a passport holder from a country that doesn't require a visa to enter Canada, you'll have to apply for a special authorization to enter Canada and AFAIK, you'll need your citizenship certificate to prove your status in Canada.
You definitely do not need your certificate to prove this. You apply online and tell them when you became a citizen and they look up your information, and then send you the authorization by email several days before hand.

Yes. I stand corrected about the need for citizenship certificate in order to obtain special authorization.

https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/visit-canada/dual-canadian-citizens-visit-canada.html#findOut

Find out if you are eligible for a special authorization to board your flight to Canada
You can apply for a special authorization if you:
  • have not been issued a Canadian passport that is valid on the day of your travel
  • have a flight to Canada that leaves in less than 10 days
  • have a valid passport from a visa-exempt country
  • are not a Canadian-American dual citizen
And one of the following:
  • have previously received a certificate of Canadian citizenship, or
  • held a Canadian passport in the past, or
  • were granted Canadian citizenship after having been a permanent resident of Canada.
Your information will be verified in our electronic systems to confirm that you are a Canadian citizen. This authorization will be valid for only 4 days from the date of travel you select on the form. If you don’t use it within this time, you will need to apply for a new authorization.
Thanks.
